A little history…

Not far from the medieval town of Umbertide, few minutes away from the little village of Molino Vitelli, you will be able to discover our family country home, a unique place rich in history and traditions.

It was back at the beginning of the ’80s when Claudio and Dada Rener embarked into an adventurous journey. They travelled through the italian peninsula in search for their shelter when, by chance, they found themselves lost amongst the tender hills of Umbria.

They immediately fell in love with the powerful sights and dramatic landscapes of the Niccone valley. so that they decided to break their liaison with the hectic life of the city to definitively stay there.

After few months they moved to Umbria, Masha was born and few years later Giaia came along too. In order to provide for the family, Dada and Claudio decided to start up an hospitality activity within their own home naming it La Chiusa.

Nowadays, the structure is managed by their eldest daughter, chef Masha Rener, who is in charge of the organic restaurant and the cookery courses.

Today, Masha, thanks to her passion and dedication has given a fresh and contemporary feel to the whole farmhouse structure, yet keeping it true and rooted to the family’s heritage and local traditions.
